True Detective Season 2: Justin Lin in talks to direct episodes

The second season of the hit HBO series True Detective is right around the corner when it comes to starting up production but there is still the question of who will direct the series — in addition to other questions fans have.

Very slowly the questions are being answered for fans, but so far a lot of the production remains under wraps, for obvious reasons. But we have have finally caught another big break with news as it appears that Fast and Furious director Justin Lin is in talks to get behind the camera for some episodes this season.
"The pieces on the anticipated second season of HBO’s drama series True Detective are slowly coming together, and creator Nic Pizzolatto will likely be the only key player to return for Season 2. I have learned that The Fast And The Furious‘ Justin Lin is in talks to direct at least the first two episodes of the upcoming season. He would succeed Cary Fukunaga, who helmed and executive produced all eight episodes from Season 1 and just won the best director for a drama series Emmy for his work."
Lin has somehow managed to take the lowly Fast and Furious franchise and make it into a billion dollar blockbuster series. He also has an eye for horror and the darker aspects of filmmaking, which means if he can combine his talents for True Detective, we could be in for a second season that distances itself in a good and original way from the first.
