True Detective female lead still wide open

The production of HBO’s second season of True Detective is slated to begin soon, but there are fears that the show ill miss yet another production start date thanks to conflicts. So far we know that Vince Vaughn and Colin Farrell are in the lead roles of the show with two other lead roles needing to be filled before the production of the show kicks off.

Taylor Kitsch seems to have his role on lock, but the female lead role is still up in the air as about nine or ten different actresses have been linked so far to the show. Rachel McAdams seems to be leading the pack to get the role but she hasn’t been formally cast yet.

What that means is we’re going to be stuck waiting even longer for a decision to come down from HBO about the cast. It’s possible that Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn can start filming scenes with an as-of-yet unannounced supporting cast but the likelihood that the show waits for the other two leads to be confirmed before filming is rather high.
