Report: True Detective Table Read This Friday
In the very same Deadline article that gave us the new casting news is a juicy little bit of info that’s easy to miss. According to them, True Detective is set to have its first table-read this Friday, which happens to both me tomorrow (10/31) and Halloween. Make no mistake, this is a big deal. It seemed like we were in something of a True Detective-shaped drought for some time, discounting the recent Taylor Kitsch news.

This shows that HBO is serious about getting the ball rolling. It’s taken a lot of time and effort to actually get to this point, but it looks like production is finally set to kick off. If that’s the case, January doesn’t seem so farfetched after all for a premiere.
And just to catch you up if you’ve been behind, we have Vince Vaughn, Colin Farrell, Taylor Kitsch and possibly Rachel McAdams for the main cast.
It’s only a short way to actual filming from the first table-read. Now that production is finally underway it will be harder for HBO to keep a lid on the details. For the most part, that’s something that HBO has been very good at so far for better or worse. Are you as excited as we are? It won’t be too long until set details start coming in.
The wait is finally coming to an end.
