Fan Art: Check out this Great Portrait of Colin Farrell From True Detective (Pic)

We already know how great and creative True Detectieve fans are. But we haven’t been seeing a whole lot of fan-created art for True Detective’s second season. Granted, we didn’t really see an influx of art for True Detective’s first season until after the season had ended. Fans needed some way to keep themselves occupied between seasons, right?

But that is slowly starting to change. We’re finally starting to see some creative True Detective fans strut their stuff with season two. Take Yuri Shwedoff for example. Shwedoff created this gorgeous portrait of Colin Farrell as Ray Velcoro combined with the frequent aerial shots we see of the California highway.

It’s a deceptively simple idea, but it does a great job of evoking the emotion of True Detective’s second outing.

Ray has his famous “I’m so mad/sad/apathetic all the time” face. Ray does go through a complicated set of emotions and this portrait captures it all. But there’s more than that going on here. A closer look reveals the brass knuckles that he used in episode one, as well as him in his balaclava.

You can check out the piece below. If you’ve created any True Detective related artwork that you’re just dying to show off, you can reach out to us here, on Facebook, and on Twitter.
